Katy Brodsky Falco comes to this work through an equity lens, having worked in criminal justice reform for 20 years. After surviving both HELLP syndrome and breast cancer, Katy was horrified to learn about the long history of inequities in rigorous research of women’s health. Seeing how clearly the public sector failed to close the gender equity gap in health for decades across both democratic and republican administrations, she created the Foundation for Women’s Health as a private sector solution to not only equalize research funding for diseases across gender, but also across disease. Katy has built and managed non-profit research organizations for leading academic institutions for the past decade. She was the Executive Director of NYU School of Law's Criminal Justice Lab, and prior to this, she was Executive Director of Crime Lab New York, a criminal justice research organization based at University of Chicago.

Nada Hanafi is a thought leader within the Life Sciences and MedTech industry with over 22 years of experience across the public and private sectors. She is the Founder of MedTech Strategy Advisors, LLC where she advises life-science companies on regulatory strategy, product development, and clinical research to accomplish regulatory, compliance, and business goals. Nada spent over 12 years working for the FDA, serving in increasing roles of responsibility and ultimately as a Senior Science Health Advisor in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), where she led cross-Center and Agency programs for the advancement of FDA's mission to promote and protect public health, including as Co-Founder of the Health of Women (HoW) program, the Network of Experts program and the Patient Preference Initiative. She served as CDRH Liaison and Subject Matter Expert to FDA’s Office of Women’s Health (OWH) and the Office of Minority Health (OMH).
Professional dot-connector, story-hunter, and regulatory whisperer.
Nada cracks the FDA code by day, moderates fireside chats and fascinating panels by night, and somehow makes regulatory strategy sound almost fun. With 22+ years of turning bureaucratic maze-running into an art form, she's the co-founder of MedTech Strategy Advisors, LLC —where life science companies go when they need someone who actually speaks fluent FDA.
After 12 years inside the beast (aka FDA's CDRH), where she co-founded game-changing programs like Health of Women and made "patient preference" a thing people actually care about, Nada broke free to help the rest of us navigate the regulatory wilderness. She's basically the Rosetta Stone between "what the FDA wants" and "what humans need."
But here's where it gets interesting: Nada doesn't just decode regulations—she hunts for the human stories behind the science. Whether she's moderating a fireside chat or connecting the dots on a panel, she has this uncanny ability to find the thread that ties everything together. It's like watching someone solve a puzzle while simultaneously making you care about each piece.
When she's not busy co-founding MedTech Color (because representation matters, obviously) or co-chairing committees for the Gates Foundation, or Milken Institute, you'll find her asking the questions that make everyone else go "Oh, THAT'S why this matters."
The bottom line? If you need someone who can translate FDA-speak into human, find the story in the data, and connect dots you didn't even know existed—while keeping everyone awake and engaged—Nada's your person.
Queen Mary, University of London, and Johns Hopkins trained her brain. The FDA trained her patience. Real people and life taught her everything else.
